About Clayton Thomas


A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, Clayton Thomas of Nashville, TN, holds a bachelor of science in psychology. Over the course of his career, he has served as a counselor at several organizations, including the Progress Foundation in San Francisco, where he served as a relief counselor. In this role, Clayton Thomas conducted group counseling and medication management to help clients complete their treatment goals. He later moved back to TN and eventually took on the role of mental health counselor at Centennial Medical Center. 

As a mental health counselor, Mr. Thomas led treatment groups and documented patient progress toward treatment goals. Also a certified nurse aid (CNA), he used this training to assist nurses by taking patients’ vital signs and working to improve overall patient care. 

Outside of work, Clayton Thomas has actively volunteered with a number of organizations, including the GLBT National Help Center, where he provided counseling on the national hotline to assist gay adults and youth in crisis. He also enjoys speaking to others about mental health issues and ways to overcome depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
